About

Cinedrone.
Aerial & ground filming.

A specialist aerial and cinematic ground filming service for productions working across Scotland. Professional footage, delivered on demand.

Who we are

Cinedrone is a small, specialist team operating aerial and cinematic ground camera units across Scotland. We work with production companies, broadcasters, advertising agencies, and independent filmmakers who need professional footage from Scottish locations without the cost and logistics of sending a full crew.

Our approach is straightforward: clients brief their shots remotely, our team captures them on location, and the finished clips are delivered directly to a secure online portal within one week. Broadcast-grade footage without the travel budget, the scheduling overhead, or the crew day rate.

The two units

Aerial unit: cinematic flyovers, reveals, orbit passes, low-altitude tracking shots, and slow-motion aerials across Scotland. Up to 5.1K, 10-bit D-Log, up to 120fps at 4K. The kind of coverage that cannot be replicated from the ground, operated by CAA-licensed pilots with experience across Scotland's most technically demanding environments.

Cinematic ground unit: tracking shots, locked-off landscapes, gimbal moves, handheld sequences, and slow-motion inserts — all at full-frame, 10-bit 4:2:2 specification. V-Log colour science cuts seamlessly with drama and documentary cameras, typically without a per-shot grade.

Both units are coordinated by the same team. When aerial and ground coverage is required from the same location, we schedule both on the same day — reducing cost and ensuring visual consistency across the material.

Coverage

We operate across mainland Scotland from the Borders to Cape Wrath, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, the Highlands, and the west coast. Island coverage — Skye, Arran, the Outer Hebrides, Orkney, and Shetland — is available on the 20-clip package and bespoke orders. If you have questions about a specific location or access requirements, contact us before placing an order.

Turnaround and weather

Standard turnaround is five to seven working days from payment confirmation. Shoot scheduling is weather-dependent — Scotland's climate is variable, and the most compelling footage often comes from conditions that require patience and flexibility. If adverse weather is likely to affect a delivery date, clients are notified promptly and well in advance of any impact on their edit schedule.

Working with us

We work regularly with production companies requiring HETV-compliant invoicing, UK qualifying expenditure records, and PO-referenced billing. Bespoke orders include full production brief management and a dedicated point of contact throughout. For straightforward orders, our online booking system handles everything from brief to download with no phone calls required.
